Sara "Irene" Gallimore Miller

Sara “Irene” Gallimore Miller, 86, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. She was born in Davidson Co., NC, on December 7, 1938, a daughter of the late Ervin Wade and Annie Lou Parker Gallimore.

Sara worked at Amazon, now Parkdale Mills, for 40 years until retirement. She married Irvin Arnold Miller on October 26, 1957. Their marriage spanned 63 years until Irvin preceded her in death on December 10, 2020. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and she cared for anyone who came to visit her children as if they were her own.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Sara was preceded in death by her sons, John Irvin Miller and Keith Arlen Miller; grandson, Roger Dale Barker, Jr.; brother, James Von Gallimore; and sisters, Wadine Gallimore Hughes and Susan Gallimore Varner.

Left to cherish Sara’s memory are her daughters, Sara Miller Barker (Roger) and Sherri Miller Frye (Chris); sons, Robert “Dale” Miller and Steven Wayne Miller (Stephanie); daughters-in-law, Jane Johnston Miller and Tammy Wallace James; grandchildren, Kenneth Wallace, Ashley Wallace Young (Cory), Valerie Miller Tarlton (Christopher), Kelly Miller Hunt (Jeremy), Mandy Miller Gusler (Joshua), Kimberly Barker Swaney (Michael), Kimberly Miller (James Griffin), Tyler DeReamer (Hannah), Lindsay Miller (David Messer), Elijah Miller, and Molly Frye; great-grandchildren, Chase Tarlton, Chancelor Hunt, Aiden Swaney, Nolan Hunt, Logan Swaney, Faithlyn Gusler, Henry Wallace, Ellie DeReamer, Josephine Wallace, Willow Hunt, Lyla DeReamer, and Tula DeReamer; sister, Elsie Gallimore Shoemaker (Tom); and many nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved.

A funeral service will occur Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Hillside Park Baptist Church, 7593 E Holly Grove Rd, Thomasville, NC 27360. Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm – 8:00pm on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Sechrest-Davis Funerals & Cremations of Thomasville, 18 Randolph Street, Thomasville, NC 27360.
