Mr. Vernon Ray Sechrist

Mr. Vernon "Fat Man" Sechrist, 63, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025 following several years of declining health.

Vernon was born in Davidson County, November 24, 1961, a son of the late Bobby Ray Sechrist and Barbara Jean Hughes Sechrist. He was a truck driver by trade, owning and operating S & S Trucking Company. Vernon loved his dogs and Harley Davidsons, even building his own Sportster. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney "Flash" Sechrist. Vernon loved life and lived his life on his own terms.

Surviving are his sister, Debra Jones and husband Thomas; his uncle, Tom "Papa C" Hunt; special friends, Wayne and Angela Trull, Rick and Lynn Daniels, Kirby Lambeth and Paul Passmore; and numerous other extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Vern's life will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the Sechrest-Davis Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Darrell Summey. Burial will follow in Hughes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
