Virginia served her country as a veteran of the United States Navy, where she held the rank of Seaman—an enduring reflection of her steady sense of duty and quiet strength.
A devoted member of Fairmont Park Baptist Church for many years, Virginia’s faith found expression in the life of the church and in the care she extended to others. She treasured time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and found joy in the simple, meaningful rhythms of home. Her hands were rarely idle—often busy with crocheting—and her voice was familiar in the church choir. She also gave of herself as a Sunday school teacher, offering guidance with patience and sincerity.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Jenkins, Sr., in 2016.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Kathleen Jenkins Green and husband Ken; her son, Thomas Jenkins, Jr; three brothers, Jimmy, Henry and Wayne King; three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations, 18 Randolph Street, Thomasville, NC 27360, US, on Monday, October 12, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm, followed by the funeral at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
