I dont know what really to say. It fills my heart with joy and a good kind of pride reading what everyone has had to say about my brother. I know he was a wonderfull man and a Godly man. When I thought of who I wanted to be like when it come to being a Christian, Les would most often come to mind. I may not have been very close to him, not every family is extremely close, but I knew him well enough to know there is a gaping hole in my heart now. I already miss him so much. I pray for Jan and Joni in this time of grieving. I know God is with them and that it is just going to take time for their hearts to heal. Although our hearts can never fully heal from the loss of such a great loved one that we depended on for so much. No matter what that need was. I want to thank everyone that has said something about Les. It is very touching in this time when we are missing him, and knowing that we can come see these good words down the road.

Dear Les, I sent you a message on Monday after your Memorial service and for some reason it didn't come through. The Funeral Home asked me if I would do another one. You were my only Son and you had 6 sisters. You are in Heaven with 2 of them. There is a whole host of loved ones and friends there in Heaven. I love you so much and miss you so much. I was so distraught that I was not able to come and be with you in your time of need. I had been wanting to get up there to see you for a long time, but last June when I had to have surgery on a fractured hip it put me out of commission and I'm still having issues with it. Son, mother will meet you again soon in Heaven. I'm looking forward to it. We will never have to part again. I didn't realize until after ,that you passed away on yours and Jan's 31 wedding anniversary. I pray for Jan and Jonie that they will make it through this and stay true to Jesus. Until that day when we meet again,Son, I will love you and miss you greatly, and I will keep the Faith in Jesus the Son of GOD that we will be together soon. Love your Mother

It will be very hard for me to visit Chick-fil-A without seeing or having a conversation with Les.  Once you got to know him, his faith was so evident not just in his words, but in his actions.   We always joked we would live to see a Chick-fil-A in Thomasville....he could manage it and i would work there when i retired from teaching! I am sadden to learn of Les' passing. I first met Les when I was a sales rep calling on Black Lumber Co. and connected again with him at GW Smith Lumber. After he left GW Smith we connected again at Chick Fil-A and this time he was selling me. So whether I was selling him or he was selling me I found him to be a man of faith and he lived a life of integrity. As someone  said speaking of the assurance of our faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, "Les has left the land of the dying to go to the land of the living".       Jerry Farlow

The first time I met Les, I felt like we had known each other for years... a genuinely wonderful man who's love for God showed without him saying a word .... Les was one in a million in these days when most people don't even recognize one another or extend a caring hand. Les was a friend and a shining example of what it means to care and show genuine concern, and faith.

Les was a wonderful man always had a smile on his face and loved his baby girl. He has done work for us in the pass he was patient, kind, and always cared about others. He was truly a man of God and he lived it everyday of his life.
