Mrs. Youthalene Nifong Adderholdt, 88, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at the High Point Regional Hospital following a brief illness.
Youthalene was born in Davidson County, May 18, 1929, a daughter of the late Robert Samuel Nifong and Zella Theora Ridge Nifong. She grew up in the Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church and was a member of Ladies Bible Class. Youthalene lived in Tullahoma, TN for over 30 years where she was a teacher with the Tennessee Department of Corrections. She loved to travel, having visited the contiguous 48 states, as well as Canada. Youthalene was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. C. C. Adderholdt and nine siblings.
Surviving are a daughter, Miriam Renee Adderholdt and a son, Mark Pierre Adderholdt; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great-nephews.
A Celebration of Youthalene’s life will be held Wednesday, March 7 at 2 p.m. in the Thomasville Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. E. Keith Carroll and Rev. Wilson Harris. Music will be performed by Rev. Dorothy Bowen Klass, pianist and soloist and by Savannah Simmons, violinist. Interment will be in Nashville National Cemetery, Nashville, TN, Friday, 2 p.m., March 9, 2018 by Rev. Paul Frank. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Building Fund of Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church, 222 Mt. Zion Church Rd, Thomasville, NC 27360.
