Albert Edward Lanning

Loving husband to Anne, adored father of Heather, Joanna, Karen and Dave, and cherished grandfather of Katie, Sydney and Quinn. He was “Uncle Al the Kiddies’ Pal” to the cousins and uncle to his late brother’s (John) children, Joanne (Mark), Debra (Ken) and Mark.

Al was a respected educator with the North York Board of Education, where he was a teacher, principal, superintendent and TV host. He was an avid reader who always loved to learn new facts and share them with family and friends. Al relished the opportunity to discuss the journals he wrote about his father’s experiences in World War I and II, and the three sailors of WWII. Al loved spending time at the cottage, golfing, playing bridge, and travelling to new destinations. He took enormous pleasure in being with family and friends and inspired those close to him with his positive and loving spirit.
