Albert Joseph White

May 6, 1934 – September 12, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Albert (Al) White. Al died peacefully in his sleep at Gibson Retirement Home.

“Big Al” was larger than life and always had a story and a joke to tell. Originally from Springburn, Scotland , Al came to Canada in 1957, where he enjoyed a successful career and business owner. He is survived by his son Stephen (Debbie) and brother James (“Jim”). He is predeceased by his wife, Mary, and daughter, Laura McCallum.

Al was a calm, cool, compassionate man w ho always had a smile and joke and a story to share. He loved music, animals, movies, history, books, and so much more. An avid model railroader, collector and family man Al will be remembered as a man who always had time for others.

Al will be greatly missed by his many friends and family members.

Visitation will be held at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill Thursday Sept. 22, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.

A funeral Mass will take place Friday September 23, 2022 at St. Edward The Confessor Church, 75 Churchill Ave., North York at 10;30 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA).
