
SHARP, Alfred Edward 77.-It is with immense sadness that the family of Al announces his passing following by-pass surgery on March 5, 2003 in the Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Centre. Born in Winnipeg, he was the only son of the late Alfred James and Elizabeth (Duff) Sharp. He was a veteran of World War ll and held several executive positions with both Northern and Central Gas Company and Gaz Metropolitain, including president. He successfully ran his own consulting company for 15 years. He was a devoted Christian man with honesty and integrity.
Al is survived by his wife of 18 years, Wendy (Neilans/Richardson) and former wife of 32 years, Valerie (Birch) Sharp. Dedicated father of daughter Valerie Williamson and sons George (deceased), Stephen, David and Warren Richardson and their partners Dan, Maureen, Kelli, Suzette and Susan. Proud grandfather of Spencer, Jim, Samantha, Sarah, Alexander (A.E.Jr.), Abby, Katie, Krissi and little Adriana and caring brother-in-law of Beth Neilans.
He will always be remembered and greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitations will be held Tuesday, March 11 between 2:00 and 4:00 pm and 7:00 and 9:00 pm at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). Funeral Services are on Wednesday, March 12 at 11:00 am at St. Georges Anglican Church, 5350 Yonge Street at Churchill, south of Finch. Interment will be at North Russell Union Cemetery in Ottawa in the spring.
