I sat in the dark crying last night

While I shout the words "it's not right".

Just sat there, sat there till daylight?

She is gone. We all thought she would live forever.

Young strong gifted and clever

Now she is gone, gone too soon.

I remember when we first met.

That's a time I will never forget.

Before long the love was strong.

Before long the two of us became one.

How could life be so cruel?

How could life be so mean?

She was the woman of my dreams.

Now she is gone, gone too soon.

Life has dealt me a terrible blow

It will take some time to get over this, for sure.

The nights are long and I can't see tomorrow.

All my heart knows is pain and sorrow.

But I will be strong, I will hold on.

She is with me; her love will see me through

I will cherish the moments we had.

Won't forget, won't regret, so glad we met.

Our love runs deep, that's why I weep.

I've stopped for a moment and thought how blessed I've been

We shared so much, loved so deep.

Memories and laughter to keep

I will keep them close to my heart.
