Abu was devoted to the Catholic church, attending mass daily in person or virtually. Over the years, she travelled between Manila and Toronto to help care for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the grandma that always carried hard candies and a stack of $5 bills in her pocket (secured via safety pin) ready to give or buy treats for everyone. She loved plants, especially orchids, and took pride in sharing news of them flowering with her friends and family. Abu will always be remembered for her loving and generous heart.
Abu lived an incredible 93 years and we will forever cherish the memories that we have with her. It is in those memories that we can take solace and comfort. She will be greatly loved, remembered, and missed by her family and friends.
Beloved wife to Antonio, loving mother to Alberta (Sy), Mario and Norma (Sy), Maria and Fernando (Lao) and Rufina and Wilson (Ng), dearest sister to Andres (Hong), Victor (Jong) and Remedios (San Andres). Abu will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Michael, Marichel and Edgar, Mark, Marissa and Jess, Stephanie, and Alex and great grandchildren Mia, Ethan, Mason, Alissa and Austin.
