Born on January 13, 1930, Bernice was known for her kindness and dedication to family. She was a loving mother to six children- Cathy Marnoch, Carolyn Riddell (Bob), Alexander Marnoch (Teresa), Roddy Marnoch (Cynthia), Gordon Marnoch (Jennine) and Margie Prestwich (David). Bernice was also a cherished grandmother to nine grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren with another on the way.
Bernice was predeceased by her first husband, Alexander Marnoch in 1975, and later by her second husband, Jim Fife in 2008. Bernice’s beloved twin sister, Audrey, passed away just a year ago and her brother Dave is also predeceased.
Bernice was known for her welcoming home, where the door was always open. She was a talented baker and those who tasted her homemade cookies can attest to this but what made Bernice special was her ability to make people feel cared for. Her kindness and generosity and willingness to help anyone has left a lasting impact on the lives of those who knew her.
The family is deeply grateful to the staff at Hyland Crest Long Term Care and Bernice’s private care team for the kindness and care they gave Bernice in her final years.
A funeral service will be held at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home 8088 Yonge St., Thornhill, ON.
Thursday, July 10, 2025 Visitation from 12:00am - 1:00. Service at 1:00 followed by snacks and refreshments.
Bernice will be so deeply missed by all who knew her.
