I was so saddened to hear about Carlos passing. I'll always remember the parties in high school and listening to Supertramp. RIP old friend.

I worked with Carlos for many years at the CBC radio newsroom.  He was one of the best.  Along with his studio skills, he brought a cool and calm demeanour that helped produce a seamless newscast when chaos was lurking behind the scenes.  I also went on several canoe and ski trips with Carlos.  Lots of good memories.  My condolences to his family.

Our deepest sympathy to the VanLeeuwen family and fellow friends.  Carlos will be greatly missed by all of us.

Carlos was a terrific guy and one of the best people to work with. Completely reliable, professional, easy going and a great sense of humour. Always reassuring to have him in the newsroom or on a remote. A good friend outside work too and we had many enjoyable ski outings.

Carlos was a wonderful colleague and mentor. His knowledge, easy-going manner, and that shy smile always made you feel comfortable. I can remember his laugh so well even though it's been a few years since I last saw him. He is already missed by so many. My deepest sympathy to all his loved ones.

I'd like to offer my deepest condolences to Carlos's family and friends.  
Carlos was a fantastic coworker and friend. Working together on on-air radio specials, or simply having a chat, over the last few decades was always a positive and unique experience. Carlos' calm, straight forwardness, and sense of humour made him very special.  He has left a lasting legacy at CBC and with his many colleagues, and is sorely missed.

Carlos was a wonderful colleague to work with, and just talk to. He saved my bacon plenty of times in the radio control room, always so calm. My condolences to friends and family, I'll miss him.

I am so sorry to hear about Carlos. We worked together a lot at CBC Radio and he was always so much fun, such a nice guy and a real pro in the studio. He was unflappable, even when the pressure was on. My condolences to his family and close friends.  Such a loss.

I worked often with Carlos during my 4+ decades as a CBC Radio producer, and was very sad to just learn he died. Such a loss. He was immensely talented, and equally kind. Carlos died far too young. So sorry for your loss.

I am so sad to hear this news. I always enjoyed talking to Carlos about skiing or cycling or anything work related or not. I loved that he loved a good story and a laugh.
