Those who knew and loved Carmen Luz come in scores from different spheres, the obstetricians and medical staff at Dos de Mayo Hospital in Lima, where she worked for over 20 years, the Peruvian- North American Abraham Lincoln Parents Association in Lima during her children's school years, and the friends she met over the years living in this beautiful country, Canada.
Throughout her life, Carmen constantly challenged herself and succeeded.
A woman of many gifts and talents, from delivering babies to organizing school fundraisings, managing a store, dancing, cooking, entertaining, everything was second nature and effortless to her. She was a most loving daughter, who married her sweetheart Oby-gyn Leopoldo Celis, they became a dynamic duo, the absolute best mother to her children pushing and supporting them in everything. But her most precious gift was her uncompromising devotion to her family and friends; she gave her all for them, even to her detriment.
Carmen is survived by her mother Zulema, her husband Leopoldo, her daughter Marizu and son in law Scott, her son Cesar and daughter in law Christie, her grandson Ethan, her brothers Jorge and sister-in-law Lidia, Roberto and sister-in-law Maria Elena, Jose and sister-in-law Carmen, and her sisters Mercedes and brother-in-law Jorge, Liliana and brother-in-law Edgar, nephews, Jose, David, Arturo, Joshua and nieces Natalie, Michelle, and Alexandra. She will be greatly missed by her extended family.
