Carol Ann Otokiti

OTOKITI, Carol Ann (Desmond) - 57, of Toronto; It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and aunt who went home into the arms of her Lord and Saviour on May 8, 2015. She passed away peacefully in the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Born April 7,1958, in Africville, she was a daughter of Dorothy May Desmond. She enjoyed life to the fullest and always had a warm smile for all who came into her company. She especially enjoyed going to Church and praising God. She also enjoyed spending time with family, reading her bible, listening to gospel music and watching spiritual programs. Left with sadness and fond memories are her loving husband of 25 years, Olajide Otokiti; daughter, Zulieka (Mumsy) Desmond; sons, Samuel (Nancy) Desmond, Antonio & Antuane, all of Toronto ON; her grandsons: Tre, Shemar, Jahvon, Kobe, Tori, Devonte & Darius, whom she loved very dearly; sisters, Shirley (Ralph) Azeez, Windsor ON, Kathleen (Olusegun) Odusanya, Dartmouth NS, Beverly Desmond, Montreal QC, Greta Desmond, Vancouver BC; brother, Malcolm Desmond, Saskatchewan. Also grieving her loss while celebrating her life are a wide circle of relatives and friends. Carol Ann was a people person and since her passing she has been spoken of very highly by many. She will be deeply missed by all she has touched. Family, friends and relatives are invited to attend a celebration of Carol Ann's life. Visitation will be held in R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street, North York, on May 15th from 7:00-9:00 pm, followed by funeral service on Saturday, May 16th at 10:00 am. Pastor Tom Melnichuk from the Prayer Palace officiating. Carol Ann was predeceased by her grandmother, Mary Elsie Desmond; and a sister, Jean Desmond; aunts and uncles. Thanks and appreciation are extended to the staff of the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, in particular the special caring staff of the Palliative Care Unit. Donations may be made to the family.
