I remember Charlotte and Ray Jr. marvelling at how Ray Sr. and his brother, Al and sister,  Kathy would be happily chatting up an endless storm about their "growing up" years & shared memories...every time there was a family get together !
I remember that she always made me feel welcome in her beautiful home ...never judging...always a twinkle in her eye!
Her kind and very caring character carried on amazingly,  but not surprisingly, even in her challenging years as she would display compassionate concern for others.  Ray and Charlotte were a solid team, tirelessly helping their family and others in their church community. I want to say that  Charlotte embodied traits that quite visibly influenced and inspired  her children and grandchildren alike....as one can see by these wonderful pictures and warm, heartfelt  stories !  Yes..her spirit truly lives on!

Lucas and I live in Calgary, and unfortunately, it meant that I only got to meet Gramma a few times. But I think the advantage it provided for me is that I can remember every single encounter I have had with Charlotte and each one leaves me with a smile on my face when I think of her. 

I wanted to share my first and last memories of Gramma. I got to meet Charlotte, as well as pretty much every member of the family, for the first time in Febuary of 2010. Lucas and I had been dating for 7 months and knowing that we were going to get married, we felt it was time for me to meet the family. It was Sunday Dinner and I remember coming up the stairs and seeing Grampa and Gramma standing in the dining room. Grampa immediately gave me a hug and a kiss. Gramma then came over to me, grabbed both of my hands and said "Today in Church, the message was welcoming new people into our lives with open arms, and I thought it was very fitting. So Jackie, I am welcoming you with open arms" and she brought me in for the tightest, biggest hug I could hardly imagine could come from this tiny little lady. I immediately felt accepted and safe in this new family since the Matriarch welcomed me with open arms.

My last memory of Gramma was on June 5th of this year. We had just spent 4 days with her in the hospital but fortunately she was able to spend her birthday at home with her family. Lucas and I were flying back to Calgary on the 5th and we went for what was our last visit with Gramma. We took lots of pictures and spent lots of time with her. Her smile was so big, and she was so happy to be at her home with all of her loved ones. Her mind was as clear as I had seen it, as it had been over the last 4 days we spent with her. Lucas and I reluctantly said our goodbyes to Gramma and both gave her big big kisses on her forehead and told her we would see her soon. As we left to leave, Gramma quickly got up from the kitchen table and went into her room. We asked what she was doing and she replied with a smile "Powdering my nose, so I can say a proper goodbye to our guests". As Lucas and I drove away with tears in our eyes, we looked back and saw Gramma and Grampa, arm in arm with huge smiles on thier faces standing on the front porch waving at us as we drove away. It was the best way to saw goodbye and I will forever have that great memory in my mind.

Gramma was one of the most amazing people I have met in my life and I am so lucky to have been able to be part of her family while she was still physically with us.

Every Sunday we would go to Mike and Kileen's for supper, and every sunday like clockwork gram and gramps were there. Our biggest memory of Charlotte is the big, warm, beautiful smile we would receive when we saw her. With her arms reaching out to give us a hug, she would embrace us in a way that NO one else could. We would even say there was a beautiful light emiting from her soul.
We will forever miss that smile and those hugs, but the memories of Sunday dinner will be in our hearts forever.

it has been almost 2 months since we lost our amazing gramma... and although the void she has left in our lives has not filled itself, i am starting to see small details within my life which remind me of my gramma charlotte... these small details remind me that my little gramma is still with us, in a different way. love ya gramma

so, as im sure you all know, my gramma and grandpa have a cottage up in Haliburton. I spent many a great summers up there as a kid, running around with the brothers and all my cousins.. it was utter chaos sometimes, but great utter chaos! As the summers passed and us grandkids grew older, we began going up to the lake more with friends and less with family. I remember for as along as gramma could, she would ask what time we kids would be getting to the cottage and have a delicious chocolate cake waiting for us on the kitchen table. this quickly became the best 'welcome to the lake' tradition and all my friends loved how good grammas chocolate was... she truly was an amazing woman, and i consider myself one lucky man to have had this phenomenal person in my life, guiding me and helping me become the person i am today, thank you gramma, i will forever remember your soul. love you and miss you so much....

I can remember coming over to the Tucker residence when I was a teen to visit with Mary. Her mother was always such a bubbly, kind woman. She welcomed us kids into her home and made us feel a part of the family. She always had a smile and a kind word to say and her and Mr. Tucker were always joking around and laughing. She also made wonderful baked goods. She always had treats for us kids and the one I have always remembered are her wonderful chocolate covered Rice Krispie squares. Funny how something like that stands out in your mind. I always felt I was in a warm caring home when I was there and although I haven't seen Mrs. Tucker in years, I will always remember her as one of my favourite moms!
