One year ago today as I was about to leave my workplace, I received the most devastating news ever, that you passed away. I was in total shock, disbelief and could not accept that you are no longer, not my babe, my love and my life. Today, one year later I am still in that state of shock, disbelief and  find it impossible to accept that reality. The last few days and even today I recall your last days in the hospital, how you updated me all that was going on and the confidence that you would be alright after the surgery. I remember that sunday morning we talked before I went to church, your voice was not weak but strong, you were so normal, I would never have guessed that this was deception and I would never hear that voice or laughter nor I love you honey again. The days following I tried so desperately to connect with you but couldn't. There's not a day since then that my eyes have not wept, my heart continues to grieve for you and it will continue forever. Babe you were my everything, I don't know how to live without you and there's no one else in this world like you, nothing and no-one can measure up or compare to you. Thank you for the greatest and best gift any girl could ever wish for, your heart, your love, happiness and just being you. You were the best and sweetest guy in the world. I loved you from the moment we met and I will love you till my last breath.I know your parents, sisters and nephews pain and I pray each day that God will be their comfort and strength and may the sweet memories you left them bring happiness to their lives. You were well loved and appreciated by all who knew you. Rest in peace my love, till we meet again, loving you forever.

This year has been very difficult for our family. You have not been forgotten. Many of your cousins, friends and other relatives have called and some did not even know you had passed away. You certainly were important to many people. As time passes on your passing becomes very difficult to believe. Their are days when I am in disbelief that I will not hear you call or see you show up at my doorstep. Tristan, Emmanuel and the rest of us continue to keep you in our thoughts and we know that you are in a better place. We all love you. It's almost a year since you went away, yet I have not forgotten you a single day, my eyes still weep, nor do they sleep, I wish I could talk to you, life has becone so lonely without you, I continue to live for you, for this is what you would have wanted, its difficult for me to be myself at times, 'cause I am not the same without you, I will love you forever and never let go of you, always be with me

Sundays are supposed to be the begining of a new week, hopes, dreams, good things and blessings, however it brings sadness to me. 'Twas on Sunday March 1st that we spoke to each other before I attended church, unaware that this would have been the last time I would be hearing your voice, you said we would talk when I got home, but you never responded to my calls. I knee then something was wrong and I prayed and trusted God like you always encouraged me to. I hoped beyond everything and believed with all my heart that all was well, I waited for your call, seven months later I am still waiting. This is the first time you ever lied to me. I was just listening to the song "Because you loved me" and amidst all my heartache and tears I know that I am who I am and all that I can be because you loved me and loved me unconditionally. You were and will always be my everything. Today my heart continues to love you and will do so till my very last breath. I wish you were still here with me, how much I miss you and need you my precious babe.

Since you went away my life has changed so much, there is never a moment or a day that goes by when I do not miss you or think of you. Each day I am reminded of you especially at work where I see so many people in pain and suffering and I think of how you must have suffered and the pain you endured. I hurt more than anyone else because I was not there for you and I know how much you wanted me to be there.  Many thanks to your parents, sisters, friends and all those who were there for you, I know they did everything they could have done for you, especially your dad, but when God took control they became helpless. We can't question our creator, nor fight with him, we just have to accept his decisions. It's difficult for all of us as we all miss you but I pray that my heavenly Father will give us the guidance and strength to face each day without you. I love you and miss you so much my baby.

I continue to struggle through each day as I miss you more and more everyday. I miss your wake up texts each morning and all the times we talked during the day on your breaktime, in between and especially on your drive to and from work. I so long to hear your voice that I found myself dialling your number only to hear a Rogers recording. Babe I cannot accept the reality that you are no longer with me, I just want you back, you promised that you will never leave me and you did not, you are constantly in my thoughts and you dwell in my heart, I see and hear you everywhere. I love you and miss you so much.You know the last song you posted on facebook was 'Only Love Can Hurt Like This' and you said you loved this song, this song has now become a true testimony of our love, because only true love can make my heart grieve and hurt this much and it will never stop hurting. Happy Birthday Davanand. June 29, that is the day you were born. Today I write to tell you that you are not forgotten. You are still missed. With tears I write to you missing you more and more. I remember when we were all kids and I used to follow you around. You would always take me to dances when you were playing music for them. You made sure I was safe and protected me. You were very strict but cared for me. My children and my husband are what gives me the strength to move on and accept your passing. It is real, you are gone. I miss you dearly and love you. I miss you my dear brother. Time does not heal wounds.I miss you more and your passing gets more difficult as time  goes on. I miss you showing up at my doorstep and playing with my kids. Why did this happen. All I can say is that you were too good for this world. Someone said it loud and clear when you were unconscious in the hospital. She said" Davanand does not have a wicked bone in his body" That's how you were.You had a heart of gold and cared for everyone. I will always be your little sister. Dave everyday I drive to work hoping to see you but knowing I will never see your face again. I will never hear your voice calling me to tell me a joke, giving me financial advice, or selling me stuff.  I miss you very much and I am still in disbelieve that you are gone.  I  ask myself why over and over again.  I scares me to see how short life is.  That we must enjoy each day each moment we have here on earth.  Dave I know you must be in a better place but deep in my heart I wish you were here with everyone who cares for you.  I miss you Dave, my friend and my colleague. Today as I remember you like I do every single day, my memory takes me back to the year 2012.The first three days of this month (June) were both our happiest, most wonderful, memorable and yet our saddest. Today my heart cries the way it did then. I will never forget the  days we spent with each other,  but the first two days of this month was significant and special, we were so happy together and then on the third day you left to go back home. How I wish you could have stayed. Neither of us knew we would never see each other or spend time together again, how I miss you. Three years ago when I cried my heart out you were the one who comforted me, today I have no one. Babe why did you have to go away, I ask myself the question every day, why you, why us, there is no answer. How do I go on without you, you were the one who was my teacher, my guide, mentor and advisor, my doctor and counselor, you were everything to me, where do I go from here, who do I turn to, how I wish I could have you back. Today all I have are the memories, your love and you in my heart, loving you forever.

I continue to miss you. You were my one and only brother. It is difficult to forget your memory. Every day I cry when I think about you. Your passing has affected me so much. I feel so lost. Today, my principal gave me a card with these words of comfort. Perhaps it will comfort others who are continuously grieving for you. It is God's Promises and it goes like this:

I want the world to know that you were the most blunt yet kind-hearted person. You had no wicked ways and although you loved to debate, you were trustworthy and cared for others. You were not two-faced in any way. I realize how much you cared for me and my children. I will always be your little sister. We love you and miss you.

Davanand!!  Davanand!!  My co-worker, my friend!!!  I was so shocked to hear of your passing!!  This is the rapor Davanand and I had.  Even when the dept he was in moved from one call center to another over 4 years ago I would get these emails on govt issues going on - currant local issues going on - "can you update my overtime"!!!  (hehehe)  I told him never to stop sending me stuff - I enjoyed the banter with him (me being IRISH).  He always made me laugh (even if it was a disagreement of opinion), and would make a point of seeking me out first thing in the morning to get his morning laugh!!!  Enjoy your new Journey My Friend - my heart is sad today - you will be missed!!!  J
