He often said he lived a simple life. But anyone who knew him knew that he lived it fully. Born in Hong Kong, he studied abroad, swam across Victoria Harbour, and eventually made his home in Canada. He embraced all that life offered him.
He loved good food, staying active, and enjoyed his community. He loved to hike, play ping pong, dance, and travel. He definitely had no problem staying busy and always enjoyed trying new things.
He was predeceased by his wife, Nada Ling-Yee Leung, and leaves behind his daughter Katherine, his son Vincent and daughter-in-law Judy, and his former son-in-law Stephen, who remained part of the family through the years. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Corrina, Nicholas, Joshua, and Sarah, each of whom brought him so much joy. He also leaves behind his special friend, Sandy, whose companionship meant a great deal to him in recent years.
Our father lived simply, gave freely, and cared deeply for his family. We will miss him greatly.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 10th at 10:00-11:00 am, followed by a service at 11:00 am at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill, Ontario.
David’s family would like to thank the staff at Richmond Hill Retirement Residence for their kindness and care over the past year. We are also immensely grateful to the medical team at Mackenzie Health in Richmond Hill for their support.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mackenzie Health Foundation in his memory.
