Ned was predeceased by his loving parents, David Edward Caird Sweezey and Constance Beverly Sweezey (née Proudfoot). He is survived by his beloved brother Neil (Arlene), cherished niece Karen Henderson (Sean) and nephew Christopher, and cousins Ken and Jim Wasmund, Kim (Jessie) Jarvi, Keith (Patricia) Jarvi, Andrea Sweezey (Sheldon) and Austin (Marie) Sweezey.
Ned was by nature a kind and gentle soul, who had a delightful sense of humor and a love of languages. Health permitting, he was interested in the world around him, and fondly interested in his family. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Throughout his adult life, Ned valiantly fought a range of serious health challenges. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all the various healthcare teams and providers who supported him in so many ways over the years. Particular gratitude to the team at the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, led by Dr. Robyn Waxman who in recent years so marvellously brought Ned back to us. Special thanks also to the medical team of 2North in the Ajax-Pickering Hospital and to the Palliative Care team for their compassionate end-of-life care.
