My relationship with Dia was always tempered by the difference in our ages. Being the youngest in our family by 8 years, and definitely the youngest in our cousin group by even more, I saw her as part of my sisters' world rather than mine. As the years passed, as so often happens, the age gap seemed less and less significant but the geographic and situational distances increased exponentially.  So, oddly enough, when I think of memories of Dia, they are split into two distinct categories: those that are through the eyes of a child; and those that are from the perspective of a peer.



	The strongest of the former is an image of Di sitting and the end of the dock singing, as loudly as possible, her own rendition of "They say that in the Army" with "Camp Wabun" and familiar male names replacing the original words. I remember thinking how clever she was and how much I wanted to be sitting there and singing with her. I was only 7 though and definitely not part of the elite teen contingent. I still remember every word of her targeted tune!



	In later years, I was incredibly fortunate to be able to grow more of a relationship with Dia each time that we were able to connect during our times in Temagami over the summers. I was so glad that she was able to meet my daughters and that they also have very fond memories of her that are all their own. The most striking and repetitive memory I have and will always have of Dia is that of moments of laughter, Laughing in the cottage until the tears were running down my cheeks. She will be forever alive in those memories. Thinking of you, Jill and Angus.

I was so sad to hear about Diana's passing. She was such a lovely lady, always had a bright smile and infectious laugh. I very much appreciated all the help she gave me at my time at Lombard. Rest in Peace Diana, I will pray for you.

I too have worked with Diana for a couple of decades plus and we've had many a giggle over the years. Her wit was amazing. Di was a member of the ladies who lunch gang where five of us retired Lombard staff meet to yak as much as dine. She will be missed and we'll hoist a glass to her the next time we get together. My thoughts are with her family and the deep sadness they must feel.

It has been quite a while since I have seen Dia. I am sad about that, Rheal never got to meet her, that is also a sad thing. We had so much fun up north together during summer vacations but travel and living in another country has kept us apart. She will be remembered very fondly and with love.

Although we didn't know Diana for a long time we have wonderful memories of her when she came to Vancouver in 2008 for the wedding of Jeff and Lisa. It was nice that she retired early and was able to travel and spend time with friends and family. We want you to know that our thoughts are with your family at this very sad time.

I had the pleasure of knowing Di for the past 27 years. I will miss her smiles, laughter and sparkling eyes. Di always made one smile even when she was having a bad day. Heaven has received a wonderful gift.

I was so sorry to learn of Di's passing. I had the privilege of working with her for many years and enjoyed her great sense of humour. My condolences to the family. Di I hope you find a good place for some "Barley Sandwiches"

We were so happy to have been able to spend time with Dia this week and to watch, even at the end of her life, her pleasure at the arrival of much loved friends and family members. It was apparent that she was being supported and comforted in their presence. She was immersed in laughter and caring throughout her last hours. We will always hold her in our hearts.

She will forever be a part of my memories of Temagami, especially her laughter and her love for all things punnish or furry. Within a life that ended too soon and too quickly, Diana touched many people and created many smiles. She will be missed.
