On June 10, 2025, Drew McGowen shared his last laughs, gotchas and knowing smiles surrounded by his loving family. Family and friends were Drew’s engine, at the heart of everything he did. Drew’s extraordinary strength through the most difficult of times only matched his commitment to those he loved so deeply.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Andrea; mother, Carol (Donnie); and brother, David (Andrea). Drew will be missed by his Dad, Ken (Mary); his children, Samantha and Jacob; mother-in-law, Katrin; Sisters, Kelly (Bob), Janice (Alan) and Michelle (Brian), as well as his many nieces, nephews, and vast circle of friends, whom he counted as family.
Drew achieved a great deal throughout his 30+ year career in corporate real estate, most importantly he met the love of his life, Andrea through that work. Unfortunately, they only shared 6,070 days together, before her untimely passing.
Before saying “Buh-Bye” (as only Drew would say), Drew would want to thank everyone for the immense love, and support he’s received throughout his diagnosis and after Andrea’s passing. Drew’s thank-you’s were sincere and many, including to his doctors (a special thanks to Dr. Mozessohn), nurses and anyone and everyone who provided him unwavering care, while laughing at his wit and pranks (i.e. his ‘chemo shirt’ and don’t f*** up my day socks).
We hope in Drew’s honour, all will continue to gather, share laughs, and celebrate everything. After all, Drew never let us squander a chance to raise a toast.
Family will begin receiving friends on June 22, 2025 at 1pm, followed by a service at 2pm at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, at 8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Drew & Andrea McGowen Memorial Retail Scholarship at Guelph University.
