I have many memories of Uncle Eathel when he made his rounds through Denbigh to catch up with family.  Whether it was at the Denbigh Fair or the Hunter's Supper in the Fall, he would always seem to show up with a big smile, a few funny stories and of course a good appetite!  I will always remember his strong character and sound guidance when I looked to him for advice.  He will be forever missed, but I will be sure to raise a glass of cheer in his memory.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I will always cherish Uncle Eathel's visits and stories during hunting season. He always left you with a vision to ponder. He will be missed but not forgotten. Our prayers are with you.

To all of Red's family and friends we wish to extend our sincerest condolences for your loss.  He was a lifelong friend of ours, who made our life much richer by knowing him. May the Lord bless you and  console you in this time of sorrow.

Liz, I never had the pleasure of meeting your family but I have had the pleasure of knowing you and, to a lesser extent, Joe. I just wanted to extend my sincere condolences to you and yours in this time of sadness.

My fond memories of uncle Eathel are during his summer visits with my cousins to Grannie P's in Denbigh. His laugh right from the belly was a joy to hear. My condolences to the family. I will miss him.....

I had the good luck of getting to know “EWP” through his long friendship with my father, and had the privilege of spending a week every year with Red over a span of close to 20 years in the annual ritual known as The Hunt.  Red allowed me to see our annual foray into the “wilds” of the Bonnechere Valley for what they truly were, a time of contemplative connecting with ourselves in the natural world.  Harvesting a deer was great, but Red knew that this was not perhaps the most important pursuit of the week.  Great friendships renewed, camaraderie seldom experienced in this modern world, and seeing his gentle enjoyment of just sitting out on his deer watch, “The Pinnacle”, were what it was also all about.  Not to mention Rothman's and Sheep Dip!  Red, have fun riding all the motorcycles and driving all the convertibles and flying all the airplanes your heart desires.  Your family and friends were blessed to have you in their lives.  May God grant them peace in this time of loss.

I have many memories of Red in so many situations. Always smiling, always fun, always had a story or joke to tell. You will be missed, but always remembered. My condolences to all Red's family

Uncle Red's visits with his family to Denbigh were always happy occasions. He had time for everyone. He taught me to pull a chain when I was 12. He advised me to raise my sights and go to University for Surveying. We are proud and fortunate to have known him.

As a young apprentice I met Mr. Petzold at the age of 16. Our family owned a survey supply company and (Red) and my dad were old friends. My sister referred to him as Santa Claus with a red beard. Fond memories of Red dropping by our office for whatever service he required. To Mr Petzold, Rest in Peace to his family, thank you for allowing him into our lives and making them better.

"Happy to meet, sorry to part ..."    Although ours were only infrequent meetings, many years ago, they were always pleasant and professional. My condolences to his family and close friends.  Richard ("Dick") Priddle.

As my family and I moved away from Ontario when I was at a young age, distance kept me from Pa for many years of my life. However, I have always carried with me in my heart the fond memories of my time with Pa on the farm. Each day that I would visit, Pa would take the time to help me set up a my little tiny tea set, and we would sit together on little tiny chairs with tea, crackers, stinky cheese, and Sandy by our side. I will always remember our long, quiet walks through the brush that were always coupled with lessons about the local birds. My thoughts are with the rest of Red's family during this difficult time. I love you, Pa.

46 years ago Red (Mr. Petzold to me) owned a white convertible!  Being a wonderful next door neighbour, he offered to drive my Dad and I to the church on my wedding day, even though he was an invited guest!  That way, he said, "I can put the top down while you step in and you won't crease your dress".  So my Dad and I drove in style on one of the most important days of my life with Red dressed in his finery as our chauffeur.  Rest in peace Mr. Petzold....how nice that you and my Mom and Dad can be neighbours again.

Please accept our condolences on your loss. We are so sorry and our thoughts are with you and your family. Gone from our sight but never from our memories or our hearts. He will be greatly missed.
