With hearts full of love and gratitude, we announce the passing of Edna, who left us peacefully at the age of 100. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was the guiding light of our family and a source of endless wisdom, strength and warmth.
Born in Godowa, Poland, Edna lived a life marked by resilience and service. As a wartime nurse, she cared for others with unwavering dedication, embodying compassion in even the most difficult times. She later built a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Marian, with whom she shared many years of adventure, laughter, and love. Though he passed years ago, she always spoke of their reunion, and we take comfort in knowing they are together once more.
A woman of many passions, Edna was an avid tennis player and a lifelong traveler, always happiest when surrounded by family on new adventures. She leaves behind two devoted children, Christine and Rick, seven cherished grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who will forever carry her spirit forward.
Her kindness, sharp wit, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but never forgotten. A celebration of her remarkable life will be held at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes in Thornhill on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 12:30pm, with visitation beginning at 12pm. Following the celebration there will be a reception. A entombment of Edna will take place on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 10:30am at Holy Cross Cemetery.
