Elizabeth (Betty) Christine (nee Dreisinger) Robertson

Betty passed away peacefully in her 99th year on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Amica Unionville. Beloved wife of Bob (predeceased) for almost 62 years. Much loved mother of Gord, Shirley, and Barb (Dave Mann). Cherished grandmother of Jen, Leanna (Tomas), and Charlotte (Ross). Predeceased by her dear parents Lavina & Emanuel, siblings Phyllis (Roy) & Bruce (Edna), and brothers & sisters-in-law: John (Milly), Fred (Winnie), & Dorothy (Alex). She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Betty grew up in Toronto where she met Bob, the love of her life. After getting married in 1948, they resided in Montreal for several years where Betty had a career at Provincial Paper until they started their family. Then, they returned to Toronto, where Betty worked hard raising their 3 children, and several cherished pets, including dogs, budgies, and a cat. Betty volunteered for over 30 years, turning many books into Braille for the CNIB. In her free time, she especially loved to golf and play bridge. She was an active golf member of The Thornhill Club for nearly 46 years. In her younger years, she loved their family home in Toronto and their winter villa in Florida where Bob and Betty could golf together as much as possible.

After Bob’s passing, Betty moved to Delmanor Wynford for over 7 years, before moving to Amica Unionville for almost 4 years. The staff and fellow residents at both retirement homes became her extended family and we thank them for their wonderful care and companionship during her twilight years.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 27th, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Memorial service at 12 p.m. Reception to follow. All will take place at The Thornhill Club, 7994 Yonge St., Thornhill, Ontario. Cremation has taken place.
