It seems like ages since I last saw you,and our last conversation by phone still rings in my ears. I remember saying that it was way too long and you promised that you were coming to New York this year for a visit! It was a visit that I'd been looking forward to, because I was expecting sunshine...you always brought that with you.
I always tell the story of when I was first introduced to you by Wendy and you tried hitting on me, even though I was younger than your daughter! I've looked forward to your visits to New York since then and always enjoyed having you around. You'll be dearly missed! REST IN PEACE my friend.

He gave me my first job here in Canada in 1969 and I really appreciated that. 
One year later, he stole my girlfriend!   But no matter, I like him anyway and we had many good times after that. 

He was always a gentleman and I never saw him angry.

Uncle Lu, that's what my three girls called him. And I come to call him Uncle Lu as well.

I972, the last of my teen years and with non so called 'Canadian Experience', Mr. Foster gave me my first job, even though I wasn't exactly truthful in the job interview and he knew it. And that was the begining of a life long beautiful friendship.

Beautiful, that despite our differences in life style, love of foods, love of luxury and especially love of love, we always find common ground to stand on and respect each other's differences. His sister Sandra looked after my first born, Jamie, the first week we brought her home. His personal friends became my friends. In business, we are each other's consultant; in personal life, we are each other's sounding board. 

Car trouble - call Uncle Lu; plumbing trouble - call Uncle Lu; TV trouble - call Uncle Lu. I didn't want to go out of my way to pick up my eighty-year old mother - call Uncle Lu.  One of the four speed dial on my home screen cell phone is - Uncle Lu. There's is a corner in my girls hearts (and myself) reserved for you, Uncle Lu.
Uncle Lu, "You do not know the word 'no'. The only thing you didn't teach me is to play dominos, I think you just don't want me to beat you'. 

Uncle Lu, Thank you for making the ardous trip to London just to have a piece of my birthday cake.
Thank you for your wisdom, Thank you for being simply a FRIEND.
We love you, we will miss you. Rest in Peace....Uncle Lu.
