I remember when I was younger I went to Blessed Trinity Catholic Elementary school across the road. 
Father Ben was one of the most caring & sweetest men I ever knew. He will be truly missed & remembered always <3

Father Jobin officiated my wedding at St Timothy’s Parish on July 21, 1979.  He was a kind and thoughtful priest and friend of my parents Malcolm and Diana Gurley.

I was saddened to hear of Fr. Ben’s passing, but the shock of Father Ben’s death is lightened by the consoling thought that he is most certainly in heaven. He was our Parish Priest at Blessed Trinity and he enlisted me to become a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Parish Finance Committee. It was my pleasure and honour to serve under his leadership for several years. He was a true gentlemen and our family sends its condolences.

When Fr. Ben came to St. Patrick's Church in Markham our twin sons, Matt and Sean were alter servers.  Our sons and Fr. Ben had good times together.  One time while serving Mass for Fr. Ben when it came to the washing of the hands one lad just poured just a drop of water on his fingers.  Fr. Ben asked "is there a water shortage at St. Pat's" and then all of the water was poured on his fingers.  Fr. Ben shook all his fingers spraying Matt and Sean.  My wife, Marie was wondering , what is going on up there. They have so many great memories of amusing times spent with Fr. Ben.  I called Fr. Ben the  Renaissance Man for his love of the arts and classical music.  Were were blessed to have had Fr. Ben in our lives.

Patricia and I loved Fr. Ben very much.  He was an extraordinary man and a wonderful priest.  We were honoured to celebrate his 80th and 90th Birthdays with him.  We will remember him forever and look forward to the day when we will all meet again in heaven. God loves you Fr. Ben.

Fr. Ben, you will be missed very much with your caring  personality and hands folded behind your back.  Your trademark as a special priest, was how you fervently said the Lord's prayer slowly and with heart-felt conviction, contemplating on each word .  Each time, I say the "Our Father, you come to my mind and I think you left that legacy behind as so many parishioners at Blessed Trinity and St. Stephen's chapel remember  you for this prayer.   Rest in Peace, Fr.  Ben.

Father Ben appreciated from his origins from Quebec, working in Ontario, and from his love of travel, all the beauty of humanity in its many different ways and forms. He emphasized the importance of listening to all, and to practice compassion to the many parishioners whose lives he touched throughout the years. His other passions included a lifelong love of music, especially opera, and food and wine of all cuisines and cultures.


Well I pray that the Lord blesses us all as we remember the best priest in the world who always made us smile.  Indeed He taught us to pray the Our Father slowly and also frequently paused before pronouncing the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and the Word of God.  Hallelujah.  I Johnny am now an ordained priest out east with a mobile outreach church and I have certainly been inspired by your wonderful priestly ministry and personality, which moved me  to believe, to always do my best and to ensure that whatever I am doing in the Lord, it always ends with everyone smiling.  Thanks so much for making us laugh some of your jokes kept us smiling for decades literally.  You were a star priest, an inspiration and a true vessel of holiness and joy. Warmest sympathies to all who are celebrating Father Benoit's life with heartfelt joy at this time.  Rest in power  dear friend.  The Peruch Family

Fr. Ben had a lovely loud voice, there was no need of a microphone for him. He celebrated weekday Masses at St. Stephen's Chapel in downtown Toronto, either the 12:10pm or the 1:10pm Mass. 
I'll never forget the one time we all said the Our Father real quick, just whipped through it, and he waited for us to finish it, then said, 
"okay, now go back and say it again, this time s-l-o-w-l-y."
This is how we said it,  a 180 degree,  "Our Father, (pause), who art in Heaven (pause), hallowed be thy name (pause), thy kingdom come (pause)...." He was happy and said, "that's how I want it said from now on."  We made sure to slow it down every time Fr. Ben celebrated Mass at St. Stephen's.
Thank you, Fr. Ben, for your ministry. We will  miss you. Rest in peace. 




I am tthe Mother of Lisette Wilson who was Father Jobin's first baptism so we go way back .When we moved to Scarborough there was a billigual school but no church and Fr Jobin was appointed to found one.We bought a synagogue on Don Mills rd.where the present St Louis de France still stands.I t was a great time Pasteur as we called him formed a very close community  engaging all parishioners to take part ,we had wonderful suppers and dances to raise funds to pay for our church,Pasteur was a great leader  and his faith was infectious
May God reward you Pasteur for your many years of service to God and to us

Father Ben was a family friend and a wonderful priest.  He laid the foundation for a Parish and community at Good Shepherd. He went on to inspire many of the other parishes and families whose lives he touched.  As a kid I will never forget him coming for dinner to the Purdy family home  with his red sports car a trans-am and his driving gloves.  Quick with a joke and a an opinion.  He was down to earth, loved life and loved his Saviour.  He would be at Holy Redeemer saying mass and special occasions and never missed a beat.  A wonderful priest a wonderful life lived.  He built the community of Good Shepherd with so many beautiful families creating so many wonderful memories. RIP faithful servant and friend.  

Father Jobin was my pastor as a young baby at L'Eglise du Sacre Coeur in Toronto in 1954 and I happened to be his first baptism 67 years ago. When I was a teenager Father and I would cross paths when he became the pastor of our parish St Louis De France.   He encouraged me to become a youth leader in our parish.  He was so supportive of us and he was always willing to help us out to grow deeper in our faith.  I have great memories of BBQ's he would host for us and other activities.  I will forever cherish my times with him.    May you rest in peace Father Jobin. 

Fr. Benoit Jobin was my parish priest, back when I was a kid, attending Church of the Good Shepherd Parish. Under his pastorship, I received the Sacraments of First Holy Communion, First Holy Confession, and my Confirmation. Fr. Benoit Jobin served the Lord with faith and grace. May he rest in the Eternal Peace Of Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Father Jobin was a special person and I had the pleasure of working with him many times and when my children were in French School and came for dinner and spent time speaking French to both my son and daughter.

Fr. Ben Jobin was a wonderful, compassionate and thoughtful priest and pastor. His counsel and encouragement when there were struggles always gave us the help we needed.  All our five children had Fr. Jobin marry them and he also baptized their children.  Fr. Ben, we we lovingly called him, was a wonderful support to me and the family when my husband, Malcolm,died in 2001.  Fr.Ben gave such wonderful words of comfort at the funeral and allowed two of my children to give their heartfelt eulogies.  
RIP dear Father Jobin…..we all loved you.


We wish to  share our memories of Father Ben with his family and friends, celebrating his life.
He was a unique individual, always choosing his own path.
He chose an unconventional but gifted architect to design Good Shepherd Church. 
He supported the Good Shepherd Bike-a-thon, and rode his bike with the community, adding to the enthusiasm for this annual event.
His support of the Youth Group was unwavering.

His style, humour and optimism will always be remembered. 
He will be greatly missed.

Ben Jobin has been an inspiration to us through the 25 years we have known him.  His sense of humor was in trying times was always uplifting.  He will be greatly missed by many but now he is at peace with our Heavenly Father.
