
Died peacefully on June 21, 2004 in his 93rd year at Grace Hospital in Toronto. Predeceased by his first wife, Martha Hisaye, Frank is survived by his wife Mitsuye of Momiji in Scarborough and his sons Winston (Fumiko) of Willowdale and Ken (Janice) of Hamilton. Frank was the eldest of seven children and leaves a sister Mitsuko Iwashima living in Japan. Beloved grandfather to Mika (James), Susan (Benoit), Adam, Miko and Tomo and beloved great-grandfather of Jordan and Griffin. Frank is lovingly remembered by sisters-in-law Ruth Tsujimura, Yoshiko Hirano and Joan Hirano and brother-in-law Kei Hirano. Frank was a tireless worker and former President of the JCCA of Toronto. He was a leader in Kotobuki-Kai, Kisaragi Club and Shigaken-Jin Kai. He was actively involved with the building fund campaign of the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre and enjoyed his association with the singing group, Shigin. In 1985, Frank received an honour from the Emperor of Japan. He was bestowed with the Fifth Class Order of the Sacred Treasure for his work with Japanese-Canadian citizens. He was also very involved with assisting at the Toronto Japanese Anglican Church and served as a Church Warden. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 24, 2004 at ----------at St. Andrew's Japanese Anglican Church, 49 Donlands Avenue, Toronto. Many thanks to the caring staff at Toronto Grace Hospital.
