Fred Wyers

Passed away peacefully on Sunday July 16th, 2006, in his 73rd year, after a courageous fight with cancer. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 42 years, Rita. Loving father of Paul and Betty, Michael and Janet, Stephen and Christine. Devoted grandfather of Alyson, Andrea, Cassandra, Billy, Cameron, Jaclyn and Carly. Survived by his second wife Elizabeth. Son of Hilda and Fred Wyers of Prescot England, Came to Canada in 1960, via Lethbridge Alberta. Canadian Triple Jump Champion in 1963 with Lethbridge Track and Field Club. Resident of Thornhill since 1966. Retired from Metro Toronto Planning in 1995 after 31 years. He enjoyed his last years playing golf and tennis with his friends at Bayview Country Club, indulging his grandchildren, and astounding us all with his cryptic crossword mastery. He will be sadly missed. A Private Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at the R. S. Kane Funeral Home. Condolences can be left at www.rskane.ca/obituaries.
