Passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at his home in his 98th year, after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his beloved wife Ruth (2011). Loving father of Jane (Wayne), Stephanie (Paul), Gregory, and Steven (Teresa). Cherished Grandpa of Jorden, Lindsay, Scott, Julia, Valinda, Josh, Madeleine, Brooke, Whitney, Sarah, and Liam. George will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. He was a dedicated longtime parishioner of St. Bonaventure’s, spent many years volunteering with Lyndhurst Centre, and was a faithful fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge St., at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bonaventure’s Church (1300 Leslie St.). Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
