It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Lindy Marcocchio at Mount Sinai Hospital Toronto on Thursday, December 30, 2010. Beloved husband of Elda for 72 years. Devoted and loving father of Sandra (Rocco) Belvedere, Robert (Lynn) Marcocchio, and Kathy (Larry) Citrullo. Cherished grandfather of Joseph (Joanne) Belvedere, David (Gerarda) Belvedere, Jillian (Lorenzo) Romagnuolo, Christopher, Robert and Jennifer Citrullo, Cara (David) Morkes and Jonas Marcocchio. Proud great-grandfather of Melissa, Michael, Jillian, Jenna, Nickolas and Vanessa. He will be sadly missed by Amber the dog. Predeceased by his siblings Isadore, Johnny, Norina, Victoria, and Giuseppe. Lindy was a very rare jewel with many wonderful qualities. We all selfishly feel that 101 years with him on earth was not enough. Everyone has a Lindy story they can tell. He was much loved by his family and friends. He truly left a mark. He had a lifelong passion and the energy for his business, G. Marcocchio Limited, until the very end. He had a love for golf, which he enjoyed into his nineties at the Bayview Golf and Country Club. He was blessed to have a summer home at Wasaga Beach and a winter home in Florida. He could not wait to spend time at both places with family and friends. He had a full life, travelling to his birthplace in Italy in April with Sandra, Robert and Lynn. Shortly after his return from Italy, he flew to Mexico for his niece's wedding. The greatest joy for all of us was watching him dance with his granddaughter, Cara, at her wedding in Chicago in July. Dad, Lindy we all love and miss your smiling face. The Marcocchio Family would like to express their sincerest gratitude for the care and compassion of Dr. Yoel Abells and the extraordinary 17th floor nursing staff of Mount Sinai Hospital. Friends may call on Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. & 6-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption (2565 Bathurst Street). Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Villa Charities or a charity of your choice. Condolences www.rskane.ca.
