Grace Evelyn Lindsay

Peacefully on November 2nd, 2023, at Bay Ridges Long-Term Care Home in Pickering, at the grand age of 100. Grace was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Emily Gueran, and her siblings, Margaret, Bill, Phyllis, Kay, Connie, Bernice, Don, and Roy. Grace was a loving and devoted aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Grace was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Albert Lindsay, and her stepson Bruce Lindsay. Grace is lovingly remembered by Brian & Jane Lindsay, and Laura Lindsay, as well as her grandchildren Michael (Stephanie), Erin (Chase) and Alisha. Grace also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Odin and Oberon.

Grace’s family meant the world to her. As the last surviving of 9 siblings, she was the family history book and loved to share stories of her father, her Aunt Ethel, and the Gueran siblings growing up in the house at 54 Hartley Avenue in Toronto. With Al, she expanded her family and together, they enjoyed travelling, photography, gardening, and gourmet cooking for many years. She will be deeply missed by her loving family, all of whom had a special place in her heart. Grace also had a close circle of friends who remember her with great affection.

The family acknowledges with sincere gratitude, the kind and caring staff at Bay Ridges Long-Term Care Home in Pickering, as well as the personal support workers who cared for Grace over the years.

Family and friends may call at the KANE-JERRETT FUNERAL HOME, 8088 YONGE STREET, THORNHILL (just south of highway 407) 905-889-8889 on Saturday, December 9th from 10am-12pm. A celebration of Grace’s life and legacy will held in the chapel at 12pm, with reception following. Grace’s ashes will be interred at Westminster Cemetery at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Despite having lived for a century, Grace would remind you that life is short – she was never without a smile and would tell you to make the most of each day. In tribute to Grace, please hug those closest to you or pay a kindness forward.
