Dear Peter, Ursula and family,
I have not had the privilege to know your mother, grandmother and friend,  but know her from the caring and love expressed by her son Peter in his regular updates of his beloved mother. 
 I do know that she  has left a mark on the people that she has touched over the years and that she has left a legacy through her impact on others and for me  that is the mark of an individual who has lived a "good life" and a "meaningful life"

.I extend much love and blessings on the family and prayers and thanks to God for the gift that he has given to the family and others that she has touched . I send prayers to  Gwendoline that her spirit will progress to the next plane.

I am so very sorry for your loss of your mother.  
I also feel a great loss, as she was a very special person to me as I’ve mentioned, like another ‘Auntie’, and was known as ‘our Gwen’ to our extended family.  
She was also a great business role model and always offered me guidance when she helped me attain a position at beautiful Glynnwood, where she was much admired by her colleagues and residents alike. 
With a fabulous fashion sense and great wit, she was always in style!
Please take comfort in knowing how she touched people’s lives with grace and that she will live in hearts she has left behind.


Gwen and my late mum Betty had been lifelong friends and though miles surrounded them they were constantly in thought until memory loss affected them both.  Gwen was a beautiful lady but inside and outside, we enjoyed meeting her on her visits back to Northern Ireland where her charm, warmth and love shone through.

We offer her family our sincere sympathy, thoughts and prayers on her passing and thank God for every remembrance of her and we will never forget her or her beautiful smile.

I never thought of Gwen as my great Aunt, more a friend and confidante.  I was always welcomed at their homes in Toronto and recall dinner partys that should be written in history for the quality of conversation , fun, and camaraderie.  I told her on a number of occasions she was incorrigible having made some remark designed to embarrass me.
She was a good steadfast friend that I will always remember with affection.  It's gone 15 years since our last meeting but it could just as easily have been yesterday such was her presence and inspiration. She brought me to her church one Sunday morning and I said, 
'There's not much different from Belfast' Her reply,' Here's home Michael!'  Rest in peace Gwen, for a life well lived and shared with so many. Thanks for all the fun Gwen, I'll miss you. Blessings be upon the family.  Mike

The pictures that you have shared through this website are quite beautiful and reflect the lovely and kind person that she must have been at many stages of her life.
