Passed away peacefully at Hill House Hospice on June 21, 2012. Dearly loved husband and life partner of Amelia 'Beryl' Jackson. Dear son of the late Albert and Edna Jackson. Predeceased by sisters Elaine and Beryl and brother Eldon. Amazing father to Lynn (Ray), Scott, and the late Craig (1972). Devoted grandfather of Jackie, Jennifer, and Lucas and great-grandfather of 4. Dear uncle of Judith, Jane, Heather, Susan, Geoffrey, Maureen, Neil, Glen, Dan, and Stephen. Hartley will be missed by his much loved dog Clyde and his extended family Cathy and Mike and their son Geoffrey Horton. Hartley was a graduate of Trinity College, U of T. He served in the R.C.A.F. as a Navigator from 1942-1946, honourably discharged as Captain. He was an instructor and adjutant of 180 Mosquito Squadron. Retired from Gulf Oil as Tax Manager for Canada, after 30 years of service and was Past President of Tax Executives Institute. Hart enjoyed many years of his retirement painting, fishing, playing guitar and horseshoes at his beloved cottage in Bancroft. He will be remembered for his sense of humour and love of family. Special thanks to Dr. Arvanitis. A Celebration of His Life will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Newtonbrook United Church with visitation from 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hill House Hospice, 36 Wright Street, Richmond Hill L4C 4A1.
