Hazel Starr

Hazel passed peacefully with family by her side, at the age of 97 on January 2, 2023 at her home at Amica Newmarket. She is survived by her children David (Irene), Miriam Johnson (Glenn), John (Carol), and Grace Kenny (Reg), 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Hazel rejoins in eternal life her loving husband of 69 years - Timothy, her parents Andrew and Ada (Pace) McClure, and her brother Charles (Marjorie). She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and servant of God. She was devoted to helping her husband Timothy in all areas of ministry while still being a wonderful mother to their 4 children.

The family would like to express thanks to the staff of Amica Newmarket, her home for the past 4 years for their support and care.

A visitation for Hazel will be held Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, 8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill, ON L4J 1W3. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service for family will take place following the service at 3:00 p.m. at Newmarket Cemetery, 112 Main St N, Newmarket, ON L3Y 4A1.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation in Hazel’s memory to Heritage College.
