Imke Anna Irmgard Liem

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Imke Liem at the age of 83. Imke will be forever remembered by her beloved husband and best friend, Kian-Gwan Liem and her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Ruth and George and her brother Klaus, and by her son Ralf (Ulla) and daughter Margret (Karl). Forever remembered by her children Barbara (Michael), Diane, Klaus, and Jennifer (Craig), her grandchildren Nicholas, Andrea (Jonathan), Robert, Tina, Katie, Rebecca, Max, Stephanie, Martin, Renée and her great grandchildren, Hannah, Hannes, Ever, Tenley and Kinnon.

Born in Germany, Imke moved to Canada in 1971 to start a new life. Driven and ambitious, Imke worked as a head nurse, she became a realtor, and finally the owner of a warm and welcoming bed and breakfast. Imke will be remembered by many for her warm nature, kind heart, unconditional love for her family, and her unwavering optimism despite challenges and hardships. Imke made a profound impact on those who knew her for always offering her time, support, and, love. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, to be followed immediately by the funeral service at 11:00 am at R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Memorial donations in memory of Imke can be made to Sunnybrook Hospital, critical care unit.
