As a boy, Jim was an accomplished athlete and he invariably was the best player on every team he played on. His brother remembers that Jim happily coached and encouraged his younger tag-along how to play and enjoy all sports. Jim's love of sports continued and anytime you walked into his room, you could find him watching TV - golf, baseball or hockey usually.
Jim's proudest accomplishment was his 3 children!! He loved them whole-heartedly and did everything for his kids. A devoted father. Jim later married Vivian, who had a daughter of her own. The blended families became 4 children. Trips to Disneyworld and Christmas get-togethers with the Pfanner clan were festive and loud parties. Seldom would you find Jim without a Coca Cola in hand.
As if that wasn't a fulfilled life, Jim truly relished the most important role, of being a grandfather. He cherished each moment with all 4 of his grandkids and spent countless hours playing with and teasing them. He always managed to get a laugh out of them, as they never knew what he was going to say or do next.
Those who were lucky enough to know Jim, know that men like him are few and far between. A true kind soul!
A brother, father and grandfather that will be missed and who will live on in our wonderful memories!
God bless you Jim-Dad-Gramps.
