Jane Margaret Forrester

December 31, 1932May 7, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Jane Forrester on Friday May 7th at the age of 88.

She is the beloved wife of the late Ron Charles Forrester and sister of deceased Alison Appleyard. She is survived by her children Michele Forrester-Morgan, Michael Charles Forrester and grandchildren Jacquelin Rae Morgan and Melody Paige Morgan.

She started her career as a teacher in Leaside Toronto but spent most of her teaching years in York Region Board of Education while raising her children and completing her Bachelor of Education from York University. Like her mother before her, she was a voracious reader and lover of art. She loved spending time with family; in the summer at the family cottage in Muskoka, and Christmases at the beach in the Carolinas.

We will miss her crazy sense of humour and amazing optimism.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation for the loving care staff at Revera Leaside provided for the last couple of years and especially during COVID when family was unable to be with her.

Due to COVID and inability to travel, we will not be holding a service at this time. In lieu of flowers we ask you to consider donations in memory of Jane to the Alzheimer’s Association.

I have so many warm memories of my loving aunt Jane. One that I remember well is Jane coming to visit me when I worked at the CNIB Lake Joseph Centre in Muskoka, near her cottage in the summer of 1995. I was so proud to show her where I worked, and even more proud to show the people I worked with that my aunt came to visit.

I loved her laugh, her love of cats, and the way her handwriting was so similar to my mother's. I miss her.
