Janice Elizabeth Macdonald

Jan passed away peacefully in the kind and loving care of her family on February 15th, 2009, at the age of 53.

Devoted wife of Neil for 28 years. Loving mother of Andrew Gordon, Kaitlin Marie, and Christine Elizabeth. Darling daughter of Gordon ('GG') and the late Norma Roberts. Beloved step-daughter of Diane Roberts for 26 years. Dear daughter-in-law of the late Dr. Claude Macdonald and Joan Macdonald Regan (Judge John Regan). Loyal niece of Auntie Ev. Awesome 'sister' to the Macdonald clan - Michael (Donna), Joseph (Julie), Mary Jo (George Kelly), Claude, Sheila, Martha (Helmut Biemann), Peter (Stephanie), John (Maria), Andrew (Cheryl Luciani).

Born April 4th, 1955, Jan was a successful business woman, an avid golfer, an inspiring artist and most of all, a cherished mother, wife, daughter and friend. She battled breast cancer for 16 years with grace, dignity, and a love of life that persevered above all else. In her final days, our Jan fought as hard as ever to the end.

The family is greatly appreciative of the care given by Dr. K Pritchard , Dr. E Rakovitch , Dr. C Kelley, and the wise guidance of uncle Dr. Neil Macdonald over the years. Jan loved flowers, but donations to the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre would be appreciated.

Friends and family are invited to visit at the R.S. Kane Funeral home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles) on Tuesday, February 17th from 7-9pm, and Wednesday, February 18th from 3-5pm, and 7-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic Church (3220 Bayview Ave., north of Finch) on Thursday February 19th at 10am.
