Passed away peacefully on Monday February 14, 2011 at Cummer Lodge at the age of 87. Beloved wife of Robert (Bob) Briggs. Loving Mom of Neil (Lori), Wayne (Terri), Earle (Lynn), Valerie (John Hannaford) and Andrew (Elizabeth). Cherished Nana of Colin, Scott (Melissa), Jean-Paul, Michel, Mark and Robert. Sister of the late Doris Dowling and the late Sonny Coleman. Jean volunteered with the York Central Hospital Auxiliary where she served tirelessly for over 40 years. Jean contributed in numerous roles including the position of President of the Auxiliary. Jean will be greatly missed by all of her family and many dear friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday February 17 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Memorial Service will be held on Friday February 18 at 1 p.m. at St. Patrick's Anglican Church (1087 Lillian Street).
