Jean Jang

Jean was a constant inspiration to her family and friends; ever positive, inclusive, caring and compassionate. As a mother to all, she opened her heart and home to all persons and to all causes, both great and small, generously giving of her time and resources. Jean was a passionate reader, gourmet cook, gardener, floral arranger, and bridge player. She loved the theatre and lively discussions. She was an active member of Northminster United Church for over 50 years.

Wife of the late Alvin, Jean will be missed dearly by her children: Linda Gwynne (Jerry McCarthy), Wendy Jang (late Vince Marsella) and Reg Jang (Mary); her wards Kim Nguyen (Tam) and Phong Vu (Mi); her grandchildren Amanda Farrish (Gordon), Robert Gwynne (Natalie), Alexandria Marsella, Patrick, Michael, Moragh, and Carolyn Jang; and her great grandchildren Nathan and Emma Farrish, Lauren and Tyler Gwynne.

Jean will be fondly remembered by her surviving family; Frank Lim (Pearl), Mamie McDonald (Bruce), Ray Arima and Pat Joe (Allen), as she joins her other siblings, the late Archie Lim, Lille Lim, and Daisy Arima. She leaves behind many close friends and relatives including: Stafford Arima, Janet and Sharon McDonald, Helen Lim and godson Peter Lim, Doreen Kendle, Anne Dilbey, Margaret Jang and My Chung.

Thanks to the ICU staff at NYGH and all those who helped during the past few weeks to support and comfort Jean and her family.

Following a private cremation, visitation with the family will take place on Wednesday, July 30, 2-4 and 6-9 PM at R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 31, at 7 PM at Northminster United Church, 255 Finch Ave. W. Private interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Northminster Fund, the Alzheimer's Society, or any charity of your choice.
