With saddened hearts, we announce that God called home our loving husband, father and grandfather on Friday May 30, 2008 at the age of 85. Beloved husband to Oie, with whom he shared fifty-five years of love and friendship. A cherished and supportive father to Esther (Walter Boutilier) and Paul (Marika). Devoted and loving grandfather to Jonathan, Alexandra, Joshua, Gabriel and Mikaela. Also survived by his sister Lilli (Priidu Piil) and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Estonia. John was a man of integrity, responsibility and commitment whose heart for God was evident in all that he did.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday June 4, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A celebration of John's life will take place at the Estonian Baptist Church of Toronto (883 Broadview Avenue), on Thursday June 5, 2008 at 11 o'clock. Interment to follow at York Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Estonian Baptist Church of Toronto.
