Passed away on August 14, 2003 after a short but courageous battle with Leukemia, at the age of 59. Devoted husband of Maureen MacGorman Burgess. Father of Mark and Erin and her husband Tim Ellison. Special 'Pops' to Lindsay and Timothy. Loving son of Edith Skinner Burgess and predeceased by his father Lynn. Doug will be sadly missed by his brothers Bob and his wife Kathy, Gary and his wife Marilyn, and Craig and his wife Bernice. Friends may call at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles) on Sunday, August 17, 2003 from 7 - 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 18, 2003, at the Kane Chapel at 1 pm.
