

A devoted husband, father, grandfather and colleague, Doug was both the life of the party and the family man who made it his life's mission to make people happy.
Doug is survived by his wife Theresa of 56 years, his 5 children, Jeff (Christy), Julie (Kent), John (Grace), Jim (Leslie), Jay (Marisha) and his 11 Grandchildren, brothers Melville and Bill. Predeceased by sister Fran and granddaughter Leslie. Doug was born in Prescott Ontario in 1928. He spent a distinguished 45 year career with the Bank of Montreal starting as teller in Prescott Ontario at the age of 18, working in many areas of the bank across the country and retiring in 1990 as Executive Vice President. An avid golfer, Doug was a long time member of Bayview Country Club. He travelled the world with Theresa enjoying all that it had to offer. Doug, with Theresa, made their Toronto home a place where everyone felt welcome and family would return over the years. He will be missed by all who knew him and we are better for having been part of his life.
A Funeral Service to be held at R. S. Kane Funeral Home, (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles Toronto, Ontario) at 3:30 pm on Thursday, December 23rd, 2010. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital.
