Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of the late Maria Melo (2013). Loving father of Janet Melo-Thaiss and her husband Mark Thaiss and Michael and his wife Jean Bishop. Devoted grandfather of Jasmine, Clara and Kieran. Dear brother of Anna, Lucy, Isabel, Maria, Carlos and Eduarda. John will be sadly missed by all of his family and many friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 16th from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, March 17th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 18th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paschal Baylon Roman Catholic Church (92 Steeles Avenue West, Thornhill). Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery.
