Joseph Salvatore Calderone

Joe Calderone passed away, at the age of 91, on November 3, 2023. He leaves behind his wife Joan, married 63 years; his children, Joey, Jenifer (Dan) Simile, Julie (Frank) Avsenik. Cherished Papa Joe or PJ to his 7 adoring grandchildren, Joseph (Bea), Juliana (Christian) and Jon-Anthony (Milena) Simile, Jason, Justin and Jessica Avsenik and Jacob Calderone. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and especially enjoyed the time that he spent with his grandchildren. He was never happier than the time he was surrounded by his entire family.

Joe will be missed by his sister-in-law, Marlene Gilmour and Anna (Alfie) Pierri.

Joe was a visionary and entrepreneur. He took one shoe store and build it into a shoe empire. He travelled the world in search of fashion and made many lasting friendships along the way. He enjoyed sports of all kind and was an avid golfer and member of St. George's Golf and Country Club. Joe will be missed by his many lifelong friends and golf buddies who affectionately called him "Joe Scarp," Joe's favourite cottage weekends were at Fallsview with Joan, where they developed many friendships from the USA and Canada.

Joe was laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery beside his maternal grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will occur on January 7, 2024 from 2-5pm at the Granite Club.
