Karl, born November 6, 1942, in Toronto to Macedonian immigrant parents, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, at age 83. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marie; sister, Helen; sons, John and Michael; daughters-in-law, Aline and Caryhn; grandson, Joaquim, and countless others.
As a young man, Karl aspired to break into broadcasting and often recounted working at CBC the day JFK was assassinated. Though he could have been a great broadcaster(in his own mind), he instead dedicated his career as a court clerk in the Family Law Division of the Ontario government, sharing countless stories of those minor celebrities he met, and of course, his work friends. In retirement, Karl cherished family, sports, and his beloved Elvis. He loved watching whatever ball game he could find, while cheering for the teams his kids wanted to win.
He loved his music. He was always wanting to listen to Elvis, or Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Chuck Berry, or Charley Pride.
He also loved watching films. If John Wayne was on the screen, Karl was watching!
He was the life of every gathering and had a way of making everyone around him his best friend. He will be deeply missed.
