After a determined ten year battle with cancer he peacefully left us on Monday January 17 in his 86th year. Growing up in Saskatchewan gave him the mental toughness to fight for so long, but he was tired and now he is at peace. He has gone to be with his beloved wife Elsy, who left us in 2001. Loving father of Olana, Marlo and Lee-Renata and the dear brother of Margaret and George (deceased). He will be missed by all of his friends and family including his extended family from CIL, where he worked for 40 years, and his dear friends, The Sages. Viewing will be held on Thursday January 20th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street (at Goulding, south of Steeles). Funeral Mass will be held on Friday January 21st at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, 39 Green Lane, Thornhill. Cremation to follow.
