Kenneth Cameron Strohm

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mavis, his daughter Karen (Paul), his daughter Wendy, his grandson Conor (Caroline). Sadly his beloved son Ken, predeceased him in 2008. He was the youngest and last of six sons born to Agnes Ellen Strohm (nee Wilson) and John Alfred Strohm.

As a young man needing a job he enlisted in the Air Force and after some basic training was sent to France where he met and married the love of his life, Mavis. Once his military career ended he spent the remainder of his working years as a civilian member of the RCMP at the Toronto Airport.

When he first retired he spent his time doting lovingly over his grandson. As the years went on and Conor grew he turned his focus to creating a detailed family tree dating back to the 1600’s. He would head into the “office” as we called it and shut the door and turn up the western music as loud as he could and work away looking up people both dead and alive and adding them to the ancestry tree.

Ken was a real family man he enjoyed all aspects of family life, Sunday dinners, Birthdays, Christmas and all other holidays. Some of Ken’s most cherished times were spent with extended family on vacations in Mexico.

Sadly he struggled with his health over the last few months but was able to spend Christmas at home with his family keeping our family traditions alive. His final days were spent with his family, eating his favorite foods, watching John Wayne movies and enjoying video calls with Conor in New Zealand.

By the personal request of Kenneth, cremation has taken place. With the current pandemic, funeral arrangements are private.
