

Ms. Kim Anh Le was born on Feb 5, 1935 in Hue, Vietnam. She was born to Mr. Le Van Kinh and Mrs. Ton Nu Thi Hoe. She graduated from Dong Khanh high school and Advanced Pedagogy school in Hue and started her teaching career at age 19. She has spent 28 years teaching high school mathematics with several thousands of students. In 1958, she was married to Mr. Co Buu, a civil engineer and moved from Hue to Saigon in 1968. They have five children, 3 daughters and two sons. She taught Mathematics at Trung Vuong high school until 1980 after which she moved to Vo Truong Toan high school. While her husband was put into re-education camp after 1975, she managed to take care of her five children and supported her husband to escape successfully by boat. In 1984, she and her five children immigrated to Toronto Canada to reunite with her husband, where at 49, she literally started her new life in Toronto. She was a role model for her children for the determination, discipline and hard work. She went back to school to obtain a professional certificate for Administrative profession and served as a full time Receptionist and Administrative Assistant at Vietnamese Association of Toronto until her retirement in 2000. Ms. Kim Anh Le was well known for her teaching career as a dedicated and loving teacher who was passionate about helping her students to be successful. She was well loved by friends and families for her wonderful cooking style and her warm smiles. After retirement, she traveled to visit her daughters in the US and enjoyed her free time until the disease struck her in her mid 70's. She was affected by a severe spinal stenosis and dementia and spent nearly two final years in the Cheltenham Community Care center. On March 3, she left this world so peacefully while sleeping, in the presence of her beloved husband Mr. Co Buu. Ms. Kim Anh Le is survived by her husband Mr. Co Buu and five children and eight grandchildren.
