Linda was God mother to Karen and Sara(Travis). Loving and devoted aunt to Richard, Nicole (Jason), Stephen (Maya), Lauren, Kelley(Kevin) and Marcus.
Linda was born in Peterbough and moved with her family at a young age to Montreal. After completing elementary and high school she graduated from the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal as a nurse. Linda began her nursing career briefly working in Montreal, Toronto and Winnipeg before finally settling in Toronto where she began to work as a nurse educator in the ICU department at Wellesley Hospital. She met Ron on August 22, 1980 and that started a wonderful love relationship and then they were married on May 22, 1982. After they were married Linda and Ron lived in the Hugh Garner Housing Coop until 1988. Then they moved to Richmond Hill after Linda obtained a job as the Head Nurse on the 4th North Medicine unit of the York Central Hospital (Mackenzie Richmond Hill Health) in 1987. Linda continued her formal education and obtained a BA from York University in June 1991. She held different positions at the hospital and then became the Director of the Medicine program, a position she held until her retirement.
After retirement Linda became involved in Parish Nursing. She then presented this idea to the board of St. Matthew United Church. The board saw the benefits of the program and offered her the position of Parish Nurse for her church. As part of the program, she worked with other members of the church to develop the Health Ministry program. As part of this program, she organized job fairs, lunch and learn and foot care clinics. She also provided personal support regarding health issues for members of the church as well the community at large. After a few years she also became the Parish Nurse for Amour Heights Presbyterian Church in Toronto a position she held for eight years. In 2022 she decided to retire from Parish Nursing. Throughout Linda’s life as a nurse and parish nurse she had a positive influence and touched the lives of many people.
Throughout her life Linda enjoyed and participated in various activities. Some of her favourites were exercising, dancing and reading. One of her most favourite times was spent playing euchre with family. Being near or in water was when she was the happiest, whether spending time at Lake Kashagawigamog in Halliburton or on the beaches of their timeshare in Cancun, Mexico.
Linda will always be remembered as a kind, generous, caring, loving wife, mother, aunt, God mother and friend. She will be sorely missed by many.
