She did however , give cancer a run for its money. Ten years plus of fighting this disease , she amazed all the doctors and nurses with her strong will and determination to beat it.
We are quoting a phrase from her wonderful caring nurse , Kay,
who said , “ she was one in a million and will be greatly missed. She is truly a role model for courage and resilience “.
Loving mother of Manuela ( Brian) and Mauro ( Annick).
Dear Nonna to Alix, Claudia, Jake, Emilie, Christopher and Cassie.
Having come from Italy to Canada at 18 years old, she learned to speak perfectly fluent English in a short time. As her marriage did not succeed , she raised two children on her own and provided a beautiful loving home for them as well as instilling in them her strong values of life lessons including being kind, generous, honest and strong work ethics.
We, her two children , have become the strong individuals that we are due to our mothers loving guidance.
Mom spent many years working as a bookkeeper and left that profession to become a florist and open her own flower shop. She loved being a florist and her customers loved to come to the shop to see her.
Aside from her love of flower arranging she had a passion for painting and there are many of us, both family and friends who are in possession of one or more of her works.
And of course, she also had a great passion for cooking. Many family get togethers were showered with her elaborate and delicious dishes.
She loved being nonna to all her grandchildren and treasured every moment she spent with them, even all the “furry” great grandkids, Squishy, Mazey, Ginger and Floyd.
There will be an immense emptiness in the lives of our family and those of all her numerous friends with whom she cherished.
We will always love you mom.
